Safety and community rules

What we expect from everyone

RackMates works because the people at your gym are real people who want to train. These rules are short on purpose.

  1. Be who you say you are. Your real name or the one you use at the gym, a photo of you, one profile. No fake accounts and no pretending to be someone else, a gym or a trainer.
  2. Check in only where you are. The “inside now” number is only useful if it is true.
  3. If you say you are going, go. And if you cannot, leave the plan in time. Others see your reliability.
  4. Respect, always. No harassment, no insults, no comments about anyone’s body, no insisting when someone does not reply. A “no” is accepted the first time.
  5. No selling. RackMates is not a shop window: no supplements, no programmes, no “follow my Instagram”. The trainer profile is the only exception, and only for that.
  6. Nothing dangerous. Do not push anyone into something that hurts them: doping, extreme diets, training injured.
  7. What happens at the gym stays at the gym. Do not share chat screenshots or other people’s information outside.

How the app protects you

  • Verified email to create plans, join or message someone.
  • Invisible mode: you count in the number, but nobody sees you.
  • Block: the other person stops seeing you completely, and you them. They are not notified.
  • Report a person, a plan or a message from its menu. A member of the team reviews it in under 24 hours and can warn, remove content or ban.
  • Plans by request: you approve who joins.
  • No exact location: nobody knows where you are, only whether you are at your gym.

How to report

  1. Open the profile, the plan, or long-press the message.
  2. Tap Report and tell us what happened. The more specific, the better.
  3. If needed, block from the same menu. You do not have to wait for our review.

You can also write to seguridad@rackmates.app. If someone is in immediate danger, call 112 first.

What happens next

  • Warning: the person receives a warning and the content is removed where appropriate.
  • Ban: in serious or repeated cases we close the account. They cannot come back with the same email.
  • We tell you: you get a notification when your report is resolved. We never reveal who reported.

If you think we made the wrong call about you, reply to the email: a person always reads it.

Meeting someone for the first time

  • Meet inside the gym, during normal hours.
  • Tell someone who you are meeting if it gives you peace of mind.
  • No need to share your phone or socials: the plan chat is already there.
  • If anything feels off, leave. Block and report afterwards if you want.
